Decorating Ginger Bread House, Christmas Highlight

This Christmas, at IKEA Tampines, we joined Decorating GingerBread House together with other families who registered through IKEA Friends Programme. This is the 2nd time fot Yuta to decorate a ginger bread house. Guess it will be our family tradition every year then. :)
The IKEA Gingerbread house decorating activity was very fun, and they provided for us the icing, white, orange, blue, and pink, as well all the cookies, santa & reindeer candy, even the Merry Christmas sign to put at the house roof. :)

Yuta's Graduation from Little Notes

Yuta graduated from Little Notes music course for 3 years old at Yamaha Music School on 17 December 2008. He performed well and we were so proud of him! :)
They sang the songs:
Rock a bye Baby
5 Green Bottles
Skinnamarink
So early in the morning
Mouse & Cat
I walk forward
Monkey

Wild wild wet

We had fun playing with water and slides at Wild Wild Wet during this school holiday. Even we registered for DeCard so we can have unlimited access to WWWet and Escape Theme Park. :)

Yummy Log Cake

So many cake shop selling log cakes during Christmas season. So we tried St Hazel Logcake from Breadtalk. Wanted to buy Chocolate Logcake, but they ran out of the chocolate cake that day, we bought the hazelnut instead. Chocolate might have been better, maybe?

Kailie enjoys music

Kailie turned 11 months now and she started to enjoy music by following the music tune with clapping hands, head movements, and even some dancing moves. :)

Decorating Christmas Tree

It's Christmas Season and we bought our first Christmas Tree in Singapore! Yuta was so excited and he helped out decoration the tree all from scratch!

Singapore Flyer We Go!

The next stop we went during this holiday season was Singapore Flyer. We took MRT till CityHall station, then we took shuttle bus to Singapore Flyer. Of course the journey was fun because Yuta loves train and bus trip. :) Singapore Flyer also had promotion giving out free use of headset with narration during 30 minutes Flyer Ride. So we tried it out. Though we could not hear the whole narration because all the kids were so excited during the ride so there were many distractions. :)

Sesame Street Concert

During this holiday season, most of shopping malls in Singapore present free shows or meet and greet for children. So we went to Marina Square with Nicky and Alex on Nov 22 to see Sesame Street Live Show. More of that, the show was free! It was 20 minutes show with wonderful singing and dancing. We had fun time and Yuta took picture with Elmo and friends. :)

Creating Christmas Tradition, Part 1

Our family is making Christmas tradition that we already started since last year.
This year, we started with Making Christmas Cookies at my friend's house. Yuta was so excited and he brought his train set cookies cutters. (Though because of the cutters were too big, we only could make one rocket cookie)
We enjoyed our time and we brought some cookies home. Yummy yummie :)

Friday Night Fellowship - Theme: God and Family

I went to my church Fellowship on Friday night. We learnt about family brought by Reverend Stephen Tong. Some points I got from the sermon are:

1. God is the One who created family
2. Family is the very important thing even compared to the society. Families are the ones who makes societies.
3. In order to have a strong and honored family, both parents have to maintain holy love ("kasih yang suci"). Husband and wife have to be faithful to each other, wife has to respect the husband, and husband has to love the wife. So the children will see their parents as a good example and they will not go to the wrong way.
4. Parents have to maintain good relationship with God, and during their daily life they nurture their knowledge of the Word of God, so what come out from their mouth when they speak to their children will reflect on their knowledge about God. Parents who do not build their knowledge of the Word of God will slowly reflect on how they teach and grow their children along their children's lives.
5. God's Holy Spirit is a Creative Spirit. We should not limit our children to only what we want them to be. Our children have many talents that even we might not know what their talents are. We should encourage them trying out what they want until they find out their strongest talent along with Holy Spirit guidance.

It is a blessing that I could have joined the fellowship yesterday night. Kailie was asleep all the way during the sermon so I could listen the sermon entirely from beginning through the end.

My 2 kids got sick

We had two rough weeks these few weeks. First, Yuta had a fever and red rash on his face that I decided to bring him to doctor nearby. He was diagnosed with virus infection that was not dangerous but the fever would continue to go for 5-10days. It was true. What I did was only giving him tylenol to bring his fever down every 4 hours. His highest temperature was 38 C.
After 4 days when I thought he was recovered already, the next day his fever went up to 38.5 C. He did not want to eat and he threw up everytime we gave him food. For the whole day, he only ate few spoonful of porridge and 2 baby biscuits. It was really tough because it reminded me when he had the same sickness on April 2006. That tragedy was traumatic. But this time, as daddy was around we recovered it better. The next day Yuta ate more though we had to feed him every 3 hours. But he recovered slowly, and I cant thank God enough for that.

Kailie had diahorrea as an effect from Yuta's virus. She ate less and drank milk less. I did not have time to cook her homemade food because I was too stressed with Yuta's illness. She seemed to know that and coorporated very well and I thank her for that. She already recovered from her diahorrea and her appetite has grown now.

Never that your kids' health for granted that's for sure, and I thank God for giving me strength throughout these 2 weeks that Yuta and Kailie has recovered. :)

(Though it is now my time having a very painful sore throat now and cold sympthom. Hopefully I can recover soon. )

10 months old and Mommy's haircut

A very short frinch. That was what happened when Kailie moved a lot when Mommy gave her a haircut. Should have waited when she fell asleep next time for the cut!

Cant stay still for diaper change

Like Yuta, Kailie also cannot stay still during diaper change at her age now. (9 months old). :) She has to hold onto something to break her movement during the change.

Kailie, 9 months old

She is 9 months old and she grows bigger and bigger everyday. Her hair has natural curl, so cute! She is wearing her Classic Pooh outfit in the picture.

Kailie with NaiNai August 2008

Nai nai visited us on 24 August 2008, bringing Mbak Tika to help around.

Kailie, 8 months old

Kailie started standing, having 4 teeth (2 at the top and 2 at the bottom) and crawling all around the house! :)

Bandung, August 2008

We went to Bandung along with our vacation on Bali and Jakarta, August 2008. We visited Kawah Putih and rode horse on the next day. Yuta had a lot of fun, as well as mommy! :)

Kailie, 7 months old

Bali vacation, August 2008

We went to Bali on 18 August 2008. One day after Indonesian's Independence Day. It was high season so all things in Bali like hotel, services were more expensive than usual. But since that was the only time Daddy could take leave, we decided to go. Yuta skipped school for 2 weeks because we went to Jakarta for 1 week before we went to Bali.

Everything went well, though the holiday was tougher now as we went with two kids. Our 3 years old Yuta, cant stay still, and our 7 months old Kailie, already started solid food with mixed breastfeeding and formula. Phew,....4 days 3 nights in Bali was enough. We tasted Authentic Balinese cuisine, bought fine art Balinese painting, enjoyed the Sunset at Pura Uluwatu, stayed at Kamandalu Resort that is surrounded by Ubud's Paddy Field. Kids are healthy, everyone arrived in Singapore safely, and now already begins their days with their loud and cheerful voices. We cant never thank God enough... :)

Visitors from Indonesia

Kailie had visitors from Indonesia. Ii Melan, Ii Yuming, and Ii Lia. They stayed at our house for about 1 week and Kailie played together with them. As well as Koko Yuta.

Cute hairpins

Two cute hairpins from Tante Kiki on Kailie's hair not only to make her face look cute but also to make her hair go to the side instead to the front all the time.

Kailie started solid food

19 June 2008.

Kailie started solid. Started with plain rice cereal with formula, then the green beans (kacang hijau), sweet potato, and today, sweet pear because she had constipation these few days.
She started baby biscuit too but the biscuit was too rough for her that she almost choked from it.
